Tag 6 (Saturday, July 13) - Wash-Chill-Blackout

After successfully completing all bureaucratic tasks on Friday, we decided to take it easy for the weekend. Our first 'weekend' as a married couple and also free to do whatever we wanted...😇

After sleeping in and doing laundry at a laundromat, we let ourselves wander around New York. After our late afternoon nap, we took a bottle of wine to the Highline. The evening was beautiful and enjoying the disguised bottle of wine (public drinking of alcohol is strictly prohibited in New York) while watching the sunset was just perfect. Just as we finished the bottle of wine, the lights went out. Not in our hotel, but in Manhattan... We suddenly found ourselves in a blackout.

In Midtown and the Upper West Side, it became dark. And loud! Firefighters and police officers were dispatched in large numbers to rescue people in distress. Even our hotel was affected. At least we were able to open our hotel room door, so we simply went to bed a bit earlier than usual. It wasn't too bad...😉
