No yin without yang.

On a beautiful Monday we've decided to actually rent a car to drive around Granada, Masaya and the Laguna de Apoyo.

Laguna de Apoyo

Arriving at the viewpoint of the Laguna did not take us a lot of time and was for sure worth it to drive up to Catarina.

We finally decided to leave to Masaya to have our breakfast there.

On our way down to Masaya a red car passed us, while they were honking and trying to tell us that our tire was flat.

We stopped and my friend (who was driving) got out of the car to confirm the statement of the women and the two men.

In those following moments the only thing we thought was: “Are we going to have to pay for this or does or insurance cover a flat tire ?“

Meanwhile, the 3 strangers offered their help like its something they do every day....so we let them. The next 2 minutes feel like a blurred memory.

All I remember was my friend asking me if I keep an eye on our stuff because the strangers ...were after all strangers, the women being right next to us, her disappearing out of nowhere and us two German tourists - standing there with nothing but a flat tire and my friends phone. We got robbed. Big time.

What do you do in those moments? I will for sure tell you on my next update - otherwise this one will get too long.

I just wanna say right away that this experience does not mean that Nicaragua is a country I've regreted to go to. I would always go back.

It was an experience that we learned from and it for sure does strengthen friendships...and spanish skills.
