#8 When the women from Baden-Baden bathe, the Baden-Baden girls bathe too.

October 25, 2021: Baden-Baden

J. On our way from Worms to the south, we passed by Baden-Baden. Apart from the above tongue twister, I didn't know anything about Baden-Baden before (not even when the men from Baden-Baden and the Baden-Baden boys bathe). In our travel guide, it said that both Queen Victoria and Victoria Beckham have already bathed here and that the casino should be quite famous. We parked on a small mountain on the outskirts of the city and made our way to the city center. There are incredibly many stairs and steep narrow streets, all of which look very nice. The city center seemed to me to be specially designed for spa guests. Especially in front of the old spa house, there were mainly expensive boutiques and some cafes to be found (the famous casino is also located right next to the old spa house, and an old drinking hall in a very impressive building). Later, we visited the spa district, where many baths and spas can be found. Unfortunately, it was already too late in the day to go into one of the baths. The (healing) thermal spring is also located here in the spa district. In the park above/beside this spring, even dogs are forbidden, probably to avoid polluting the water. Unfortunately, we didn't find the spring, and although some of the old bathing houses had very large windows, we couldn't see any water and didn't see anyone bathing (neither women or girls nor men or boys).
