After the beautiful spot by the sea, we end up in Aguilas. Actually, our first destination was the campsite in Marzarron near the beach. When we arrived there, we were turned away again because it was 'Completo full' once again. It's getting exhausting to find available spots as we go further north. So we quickly find a new affordable place and drive a bit further south. Arriving at a small and supposedly cozy place, we are offered the very last spot or we can also stay in the parking lot of the campsite. We decide to take the last spot in a corner right next to the road. Actually, there's just a small hedge separating us from the main road. Rocky is not really excited upon arrival and retreats into the car, as he's been afraid of traffic noise for some time now. Thankfully, it's better the next morning and we're staying here for 3 nights. The beach, or rather a small bay, is only a 10-minute walk away.
One day we visit the city of Aguilas. We almost feel like we're in a ghost town. Lots of uninhabited high-rise buildings everywhere. Few people on the beach promenade. Hardly any shops open on the streets and everything seems rather bleak and deserted.
Next stop will hopefully be Alicante...
