... the round trip starts ...

Today it starts ... Tortuguero is our destination, the small Amazon of Costa Rica.

At 6 o'clock sharp, we stand at the Hotel Crown Plaza in San José without any travel documents, wondering if everything will work out. Shortly afterwards, we are on the bus and the journey begins - unbelievable, the diversity and change of nature on the way to the northeast.

After the road is just gravel, we arrive - but where is the river? With the suitcase, we make our way through mud & dirt ... our world 🤨.

Then 1 hour by boat through the rivers, deeper into the jungle and towards the national park ... the first exotic birds ... a cayman (no, not a car 😉).

Then the Aninga Lodge, a cozy spot in the middle of the rainforest, with only 1 river separating us from the Caribbean Sea.

The all-important question: Will we finally get our travel documents ... Relief, everything arrived safely packaged in the jungle, even the obligatory water 💦.

After lunch, we go on a jungle expedition, we are excited ....
