The first few days here in Pucón were very rainy, but luckily there is the perfect activity for that. A trip to the most famous geothermal natural hot springs in the region. The hot springs are located at the foot of the large Villarrica Volcano in the national park of the same name. We were able to relax there in 12 different pools, all of which were between 36-42C warm. The sulfur-rich water also has a healing effect on bathing.
When the sun was shining again, we took a long hike into the green forests around Pucón. Our goal there was to visit the beautiful El Claro waterfall. If you arrive there around noon, a rainbow forms through the interplay of sun and spray.
The nature around Pucón has a lot to offer and large areas are protected. We hiked through the Huequehue National Park where you come to a high plateau from a height of 1,000m, where you can admire the characteristic Araucania trees. These trees give their name to this region.
