After checking out at Lockyer House B&B at 10am, I had to kill time until 2pm to check in at Carhampton. So, I spent most of the time at Hoe Park on a boat tour and at the National Marine Aquarium, which was quite cozy with this great weather. The only downside was the bitterly cold wind, which became a bit uncomfortable at times. Another drawback of the wind was that the heat was not really noticeable, and despite using SPF 50 sunscreen, I got sunburned...
It was about a 30-minute walk to Carhampton, where I was warmly welcomed. The accommodation offers about the same standards, just everything a bit nicer. However, there is no breakfast. Without google maps, it would be difficult to find, as once again, every street and house look the same.
There is the Freedom Fields Park nearby, as well as Drake's Place, and again, the Charles Church from yesterday.
Right next to the Charles Church is Drake Circus, a relatively large shopping center, which has won an award for crimes against architecture.
Here, Drake always refers to Sir Francis Drake, an English pirate, later privateer, explorer, and vice admiral of the navy.
