It's not the shortest way to Halifax, but affordable. Changing in Paris from 2E to 2F is only possible at a brisk pace, despite the 1:30h transition it goes very smoothly straight to the long-haul. The plane seems ancient, the entertainment technology is barely usable, the screen is the size of 2 phone screens. The 'remote control' on the cable, the touchscreen practically doesn't work. I won't let that bother me during the 6:50h flight time.
In Montreal, I have 4 hours to spare and I treat myself to the first Tim Hortons coffee before taking another 1:45h flight to Halifax with Westjet (propeller plane).
I land in Halifax shortly after 9:30 PM. The time from Montreal to Halifax is almost as long as the flight time between Paris and Montreal due to the waiting time in Montreal. After a total of 16 hours since departure from Berlin, I am in Halifax, we meet at the baggage carousel, pick up our car at 10:30 PM and fall into bed at the airport hotel. For a travel day just to Canada, I have been awake for almost 24 hours.
