After passing countless speed limits and curves, we arrived in Bergen this morning. There, we explored the city center, had reindeer or fish burgers for lunch at the fish market, and wandered through the narrow alleys behind the Hanseatic-looking houses. We will complete the full tourist experience tomorrow.
In the afternoon, we went fishing with our landlord. We drove through the beautiful island landscape off the coast and caught a coalfish, which we had for dinner tonight. We also caught a cuckoo wrasse, which was beautifully blue but too small.
On our tour, we also passed by a salmon farm. As they were being fed, we saw (and heard) the salmon jumping in their enclosures. The feed is blown into the enclosures with air, so the salmon jump there to get to the pellets faster.
But the highlight was the harbor porpoises that we saw. They were only in the distance, but it was still breathtaking.
Afterwards, it started drizzling and we started the journey back home, where we also saw geese gathering in V-formation, slowly preparing for their journey south.
