15.-18.11. Isla Isabela

is as beautiful as it sounds.

In the afternoon of 15.11. we set off for Isabela Island by speedboat. What sounds exciting was murderously uncomfortable. 🤪

Unfortunately, we were sitting far in the front of the boat and had to endure a mix of roller coaster ride and white water rafting for 2 hours. With every wave, the front of the boat hits the crest heavily. With high waves, it feels like free fall. And you never know how strong the next blow will be. Fortunately, we were prepared for seasickness again.

But it was worth it. That's how I imagined the Caribbean.

No wonder there are signs like this here 😁

Except for a visit to the local turtle breeding station, we just relaxed and swam here.

We happened to come exactly at feeding time. 😋

On the 18th, we returned to Santa Cruz. This time we managed to get better seats in the speedboat. Despite the strong waves, sitting at the back was actually a lot of fun. However, the boat was also slightly larger than the other one. Maybe it had an overall better water position.
