Über den Dächern von Granada

Publicados: 03.12.2021

Architecture like Morocco, internationality like Berlin, and nature like Freiburg, that's what Granada reflects for me. Definitely a city where I can imagine living!

I spent 4 nights here through Couchsurfing at Ashraf's place in the middle of Albaicín, the most attractive neighborhood in Granada, which is full of cozy cafes, restaurants, and bars from all over the world, and not far from La Alcaicería, the shopping street that reminds me of the souks of Morocco.

Many experiences have shaped the past days. The sightseeing that I had missed in Valencia, I catch up here with a visit to the Alhambra and the free walking tour through the city. Moreover, it is especially the Couchsurfing at Ashraf's place, where I am staying with Christine from Latvia, that makes my stay special. Again, I realize that everything that happens outside is a result of my inner attitude. These days, I am practicing calmness above all. And once again, I appreciate the small things and surprises in life.

An overview of the highlights:

- Kushari dinner with Ashraf and Christine

- Tapas and Chocolate con churros

- Scents, spices, and lights during the evening walk

- Finding silence amidst the colorful hustle and bustle

- Looking for the small details in the Alhambra Palace

- Small talk with the Arab sellers (perhaps the only moments when I like small talk :D)

- Spanish breakfast in the sun with a view of the Alhambra

- Walking uphill and downhill through the small alleyways and soaking up the sun
