New York, Capital of the World, world capital, is such an interpretation allowed? Founded by the Dutch, on the land of Native Americans, the name Manhattan comes from their language, grown as a British colony, destination port for waves of immigration from all over Europe, including China, built by settlers and workers from Ireland and Eastern Europe, refuge for freed slaves from Africa, finally in the 20th century influential, international metropolis in the fields of economy, society and culture and in recent past traumatized by the consequences of conflicts in the Middle East.

Not least, New York is the seat of the United Nations. New York has grown beyond the United States.
