After a sleepless night, I explored the city of Vancouver. It was really interesting to discover new brands and restaurant chains (and chocolate bars😊) that were not available in America, such as Harvey's (hehe😜), Blenz Coffee, Tim Hortons... What I also liked was the mix of urban and nature neighborhoods, such as the beaches or the parks. There was also a lot to discover in terms of cuisine, such as the popular Granville Public Market, where you can find original Swiss cheese and Landjäger sausage, among other things, or the Night Market in Richmond. The nightlife was especially diverse and fun around my hostel, where I met many travelers from Holland and Australia. Aussies in particular are very common here, as many of them immigrate to Canada. Overall, I really liked the city and I will spend another 3 nights here after my camping trip.
On Saturday evening, the meetup with the travel group took place. My roommate or rather tentmate is from the canton of Schwyz. This tour is fully booked with 13 people, including 4 Swiss, 3 Brits, 3 Kiwis 😜, 2 Aussies, and 1 Belgian. This time, the tour is led by a woman who is also the driver and tour guide.
After the meetup and a visit to the Night Market (food stalls), we wanted to go to bed early to be ready for the next day. Unfortunately, we found about a million ants in our room (yikes!) and had to change rooms at 11:30 PM. The next morning, we were ready to go...
