On the second day, at 05:00 in the morning, we went on a guided safari in Kruger National Park with Ranger Shadrack. As soon as we arrived in the park, it took just 10 minutes for the first elephant to greet us. However, the greeting was anything but friendly, and Shadrack had to move our ranger 300m backwards before the elephant stopped charging towards us to show that we were unwanted. Shadrack explained that this elephant had recently had a fight with a ranger, which is why it was aggressive. But a few moments later, we also saw elephants that were much less aggressive. Then one of the big highlights of the day followed. On the side of the road, in the bushes, there was a lion. But it wasn't alone. After about 5 minutes, two more lions joined. They crossed the road and were sometimes 2-3 meters away from the car. Then we saw all the animals that you only know from the zoo. Giraffes, zebras, buffalos, warthogs, monkeys, wildebeests, hippos, and impalas. In the distance, and only thanks to binoculars, we were able to see a leopard and a herd of rhinoceros. And to conclude our tour, another highlight. Right next to the road, an elephant was grazing peacefully, and we watched it from a distance of 3-4 meters.
All in all, another unforgettable experience to be able to observe the variety of animals in their natural habitat.
