San Francisco welcomes us with sunshine

Saturday morning at 1:00 am: we get up and soon embark on the long journey. After a total of 12 hours of flight and 2 hours of layover in Amsterdam, we arrived in San Francisco. After already having a spectacular view over the landscape from Greenland, San Francisco also welcomed us with almost clear skies and sunshine, giving us a great view of the San Francisco Bay, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the city itself.

We picked up our luggage, grabbed a taxi, checked in at the Grant Hotel, showered, changed clothes, and headed out again: we had a baseball game SF Giants vs. Colorado Rockies on the plan. I even dressed up a bit and if you understand the game (thanks to Stefan's explanations, I understand it a bit more now), it's not as boring as some say... :) We walked to the game (and back) on foot (about 50 minutes each way) and got a first small impression of the city. We liked what we saw... But those slopes should not be underestimated. They give muscles to our legs and buttocks.

Although it was sunny, it was only 16°C, so it got quite chilly and windy after sunset.

Totally exhausted, we went to bed at 10:30 pm local time. A super great start to the vacation!!!!!
