Inspired by the daily morning Olympic swimming competitions, we were eager to experience Lake Bled from the inside today.
Friday as a swimming day fit perfectly, so we set off and found a quiet spot by the lakeshore.
Not quite a needle in a haystack, but it was a nail. But it worked out.
The water is wonderful and incredibly clear. A lovely splashing pleasure in the beautiful panorama.
Later, we went on another lookout expedition. Nice and steep from the lake upwards; luckily it rained yesterday. The path was nicely muddy.
But the view from the top was breathtakingly beautiful.
At Café Belvedere, we enjoyed a cream slice with a view that was no less spectacular.
For dinner, we had a meal near the lake, but it was not at all touristy.
At Monika's farm, everything is homemade. There is 'only' cold food: cheese platter or sausage/cheese platter. We opted for both. Alongside delicious beer, tasty schnapps (hops liqueur), and tasty juices. The only thing that wasn't great was the wine.
But it was definitely an experience, including a tour of the 'Black Kitchen'.
Beautiful, relaxed day.
Stay tuned
