Prüfungen ahoi 🏫📚/ exams ahoi 🏫📚

Publicados: 13.06.2024

Hello my loves 🤗

Here's another little update from the middle of my life. You know, something always comes, sometimes a little earlier and sometimes a little later. But at least something always comes. 😂

So that you don't miss anything, I think you can also subscribe to a newsletter and you will then always be informed by email when I upload a blog post, in case I haven't posted anything on the social media channels. Of course, only if you haven't already done so. 😉

Right now I'm sitting in the library at our university. Yes, you actually study hard here, but I'm here to pass the time until I have my appointment with the professor. He's going to help me with a technical problem that's currently blocking me from editing my video. 🥲

As a reminder: I am now in the 4th semester of my journalism studies and my days are slowly getting fuller again. Exam time is approaching again. 😅 This semester I have around 7 exams on my agenda again. These include media law, media ethics, my cultural focus, the cross-media project, which consists of 4 videos, and my two electives.

My biggest highlight last month was definitely the colorful northern lights over Germany. Did you see them? I couldn't see them with the naked eye either, only with my cell phone camera. Really impressive! 😍

I was also able to meet lots of lovely people again. Be it young people from my community or friends from university. I met up with a friend in Nuremberg and we looked around the city.🌆 I had never seen the Reichsburg before, although I have been to Nuremberg quite often because there were excursions from the university.

I was in Munich on the last weekend in May. You can guess three times why... also an excursion. It was the fashion exhibition by Viktor & Rolf called "Fashion Statements". A really very interesting exhibition with interesting dresses. 👗💃🏼 I really wonder when you would wear something like that? Of course I immediately felt at ease in the ballroom and I would actually wear some of the dresses. You automatically ask yourself this question when you enter this room. You can't stop being amazed and you immediately feel like a princess. 👸🏼

On Saturday I had my first exam this semester in my elective subject "Art in the Original". Giving a presentation at the Glyptothek in Munich and preparing a handout with the most important information turned out to be extremely doable. 💪🏻

Do you know anything about points at university? You need at least 15 elective points to graduate. At the end of this semester I'll have already collected 10 points. That leaves me with 5 left. I'll probably use them up in the 6th semester so that I can fully concentrate on my bachelor's thesis in the 7th semester, which is next year in winter. 👩🏼‍💻

I've been asked a lot lately whether I've found somewhere to live in Munich yet. Unfortunately, nothing suitable has come up yet. It's particularly difficult to find something close to work in Munich. 🫣

I definitely have a plan B, though, as I know a family in Munich who would take me in for the six months I'm doing my internship at ProSieben. However, that would involve a 1h7min commute, which I would still do, but I'll see if I can find out more.

At the beginning of June, the current semester really gets going with the production of our contributions. I had a lot of fun working with a green screen and it took me a while to get used to it. You can only laugh at slips of the tongue. 🙃 The hardest thing is to concentrate on your facial expressions and gestures and at the same time on what is being said. Here's a cool fun fact: the audience pays more attention to your facial expressions and gestures than to the words. When you present, it's best to pay attention to how you move, what you do with your hands, for example, or how you show your emotions. 🧍🏼‍♀️

We were allowed to use the radio studio for our video podcast, which was really fun. Especially with our topic. 🤣 The video podcast is part of our cross-media project. So it's one of the 4 videos we have to make. The topic here, as with the other videos, was finding a partner in today's world. We recorded the green screen video for our YouTube video, which is also about finding a partner. Small spoiler: I'm going to try online and speed dating myself. You'll hear about my experiences in the next blog entry. 🙈

The floods at the beginning of June also reached us. In one of the photos in the gallery you can see the road along my house, which was closed because all the tributaries of the Franconian Rezat overflowed and flooded entire fields.

My mom came to visit from June 6th to June 10th. 🤗 Possibly the last time before they move to Africa at the end of the year/beginning of next year. A really crazy thought if you ask me. 🤪

Since I'm moving to Munich at the end of August, my parents will probably just help me move again. Maybe I'll make it to NRW again. But no guarantee, because my last exam is on July 17th and I've got plans again in August. 😂I'm going to travel again because I've been invited to a wedding abroad. Well, you probably know where I'm going... 😉

So August is going to be pretty stressful this time with work, vacation, and moving. I'll also have visitors, but more on that later. The internship starts in September and I'll be pretty busy then anyway. I've already done some research into what I can do at the weekend. 🤓 It's just a shame that it's going to be cold and dark early for most of the internship.

But back to my mum's visit. What was a must this time was shopping, of course. 🛍️ You rarely go shopping alone, so two people found each other and explored Nuremberg. I thought the Reichsburg was so great that I had to show it to my mum straight away. We were much luckier with the weather that day. ☀️

We also visited another town called Wolfram-Eschenbach. The many half-timbered houses in the small villages in Franconia are really beautiful, especially if you don't come here originally. The time passed far too quickly... 🥲

What else happened? I took part in an Aldi competition and can now feel comfortable in the role of product tester for Aldi, as I was chosen to do so. 🙌🏻 There are protein bars to test. I'm currently trying one of three. Testing different products is great. I could do that more often. Get products delivered to my home, try them out and rate them. 📑 What I can already say: A good snack for in between meals! 😎

With this conclusion, I say goodbye to today's blog post and look forward to writing the next blog entry and sharing it with you. 💬

Until then, take care! 👋🏻
