10 km, 230 meters in altitude over steep, slippery roots and stones, our hike today took us up to the clouds. The most natural path through the jungle that I know of, and incomparable to the developed and secured trails in Canada and the USA. Luckily, the orange arrows always show the right way, even though sometimes I couldn't believe that it was the right way. Simply fantastic, this nature, the view at The Needle, and the waterfalls.
We ended up at the Sheraton Hotel Ruin from 1997. Instead of a luxury hotel, it has become a paintball arena with grazing cows and goats twenty years later. While we admire how nature is reclaiming the concrete works, the locals are looking for the right investor.
What a wonderful day. The sunset right in front of our veranda gives it an equally beautiful ending.
