Clear your nose, go under the water.
To protect our health a bit, we went to the beach with the dog, Paliton Beach, very relaxed and very flat. In contrast to our water access which is very stony/coral.
The next day we went mostly to waterfalls, three in total. Here money is made with every special feature, every route, no matter how short, is accompanied by “guides” who can then of course be paid as desired. However, the entrance fees are very low, usually only 50 cents to one euro.
A bamboo float is then made out of each gutter room, there is a hole in the wall at the waterfall,... caving. You just have to call it chic.
But the waterfalls are all very beautiful, very refreshing and very tropical.
You can swing around on ropes and fall into the water everywhere. Some diving towers have been built that are just as frightening as those in the local indoor swimming pool.
Everything is fun and cools down. The weather is noticeably better and it is very hot.
There was a fiesta in our accommodation, a thousand days Thursday or something, the reason remains unknown.
But we were invited to eat, suckling pig of course - delicious.
And finally I (Uli) can go diving too. A dive first to save energy.
You can simply dive here from the beach. The underwater world is really amazing; we have rarely seen such large, connected areas of intact, diverse corals. But you can forget about large fish or even schools here. Far too heavily fished. But you can see special features, pipefish or great anemone shrimp.
And turtles. Lots of turtles.
On the last afternoon we drove inland (after a mega massage).
Great forest, past many opportunities to visit local healers, to a great viewpoint.
And in the evening off to Christmas fun. Christmas market and Christmasremmidemmi. It felt like the whole city was there. Good thing for us, the night was extremely quiet. No traffic, everyone is celebrating Christmas anticipation.
Tomorrow we'll take the ferry to Bohol.
