in the morning I packed the last few things, prepared my room for the new resident, gave Anita a big hug, and then I caught the 9 o'clock tram to say goodbye to the flatshare. It doesn't really feel real at this moment and yet I am a bit nostalgic but at the same time surprisingly calm and composed and full of anticipation. Mom came with me to the airport where we later met my new roommate Maria. Of course, I got checked by security because I had a pair of scissors in my hand luggage (more like a little practice, right? ;)) but everything else went smoothly. We landed in Helsinki and then took the train to Jyväskylä where our buddy Suvi welcomed us. Let me tell you, pulling suitcases on the snowy ground was quite a workout, I even walked around in just a sweater in the beginning. There is soooo much snow everywhere and it's cold. When we arrived at our student dorm, I realized that I stupidly forgot to leave my keys. So, I didn't have a bed for the first night, but luckily Maria is very easy-going and she even brought some food from Mexico. We spent the first night together in her 90's bed and I fell asleep with a smile on my face.
