Joshua Tree National Park

Just before reaching the park, we decided to fortify ourselves with a burger at FiveGuys and let Google guide us to the nearest branch of the burger chain. When we suddenly found ourselves in front of an armed guard at the gate of a military base, who asked for our ID, we were just as confused as the soldier when we showed him our German passports and told him that we just wanted to eat a burger.

Since all the good fast food restaurants were inside the base and only McDonald's and Burger King were available outside, we bought some steaks to cook at the campsite.

The night between the Joshua Trees was completely clear and you could see shooting stars one after the other.

The next morning, we drove through the park to the northwest and made a few stops along the way, including climbing a rock.

Afterwards, we continued on to Los Angeles.
