Northern Ireland - free standing and GOT

After the visit to Donegal, where we probably weren't able to experience all the beautiful places thanks to Palumbi, we ventured across the border into Northern Ireland. That sounds a bit pompous, but there were enough people who told us that the UK part wasn't that nice and wasn't necessarily worth the trip.

We let our host change our mind and simply said, that's what we'll do now. We crossed the border without any problems, the deworming no longer has to be done, then the traffic signs were a little more familiar again, because "Field" became "Give way" again. This sounds silly, but after traveling around the UK for so many years, these signs seem a little more familiar.

We skipped the Giant's Causeway, which we enjoyed from a distance because it was a bit too tricky for us with a caravan, and I had also clearly stated my goal of visiting "Winterfell".

Our first stop was a parking lot in a nature park not far from the Antrim Coast, then there was a short hike in Glenariff Forest Park to a spring that we nicknamed "Guinness Well" with a wink because it was real in color a freshly tapped beer. We had a lot of fun in the park and were excited about the next campsite, because this time we didn't have a hole for washing when we were free...

We then drove towards Tollymore Forest Park, where a lot of Game of Thrones, GOT was also filmed. The first surprise at the park was the entrance, where Christian was initially a little worried about whether we would fit in. It wasn't a problem! However, it wasn't possible to stay longer, unfortunately, because we had tasted blood with Tollymore and the hike to Winterfell and actually wanted to see more, but..... The bookings were already there.

Still, it was nice in Tollymore because you can just walk away. Unfortunately, I caught a small virus, or I caught the virus, so the mountain tour, which would have been great, didn't work out. In Northern Ireland there is no “No dogs allowed!” Signs, but also public footpaths, so everything was more relaxed here!

We did our laundry, then booked the next campsite in the Republic of Ireland, Roundwood, and then left when the weather got worse and the first storm of autumn hit.
