Fortunately without a hangover but unfortunately with cloudy skies, we left Melbourne towards the “Great Ocean Road”. The approximately 240km long coastal road offers great views of the cliffs and the turquoise sea in many places. Since the weather hadn't improved much until early afternoon, we went looking for koalas in the eucalyptus trees along the roads. On the way to the “Cape Otway Ligthouse” we saw many koalas lying lazily in the branches or eating. Really great to see how the animals live in the wild and hang out in the tall trees.
We drove to a few viewpoints and made our way back to the campsite in Wye River, which was right on the beach. Due to low water temperatures and high waves, Chris was unfortunately only able to have a short detour into the sea.
In the evening Ines showed off her skills with the razor and gave Chris a new haircut.
