On the first day of Kerstin's arrival, we only went to the Tennoji Temple and the Tsutenkaku district. No need to challenge jet lag :) Yesterday, the proper Osaka program started. So first, let's go to Osaka Castle. Around the castle, there is a large park with sports fields and a stadium. To go up the castle, you have to decide whether to walk or take the elevator. The decision was easy for us when we saw the line for the elevator :) Japanese people are just lazy to walk (and some tourists too). On the floors, there were small exhibits, mostly documents telling the history of the castle. However, it was a bit crowded, so we just walked through. When we reached the top, we had a beautiful view of Osaka! But the bars of the fence blocked the view a little bit.
After that, we walked through the park (relatively unspectacular) and continued to the main train station. We were told that there is a small vegetable garden on the roof of the station. In a Japanese vegetable garden, almost the same things are grown as here. There were even grape vines! Fortunately, dad wasn't there. They didn't look very healthy :D From the roof, we could see the Umeda Sky Building, which consists of two towers connected at the top. Then, in a classic and a must-do in Japan, we went to the Pokecenter Osaka :D It's actually just a souvenir shop with ten thousand stuffed Pokemon :)
Today we are going to Nara to see the deer!
