Hello everyone, now we are (finally) on the road again in solitude and driving along Highway 17 from Sudbury to Thunder Bay in the north of Ontario, about 1100 km. Much less traffic, dreamlike landscapes along Lake Superior (largest lake in the world), beautiful overnight spots in the national and provincial parks. 'Real' grilling with some collected twigs and large logs at the campfire. A few pages from Elke's book serve as kindling, as always. It's not as spectacularly lonely as in the Yukon or the Northwest Territories, but already a taste of the adventures that await us.
We meet interesting people, like Cathy from Ontario, who is traveling with her husband and 5 daughters in a converted school bus for 2 months. They are homeschooling the children, which is allowed in Canada. Then a couple in their 40s from Landau, who are planning to travel with their VW van to Tierra del Fuego and expect to take 1-2 years.
We have traveled 5500 km so far, everything is going well.
