Day 56 - 11/04/23 - Lake Tekapo and Lake Pukaki
Happy birthday, Dieter.
Karin Kachelfrau studied the weather radar with utmost concentration and determined the perfect time for a trip in wonderful sunshine to Lake Tekapo and Lake Pukaki.
And so we do our laundry first before we have our cappu/latte with muffins and stroll around the town's “mall”.
After the midday nap, we start to take a closer look at Lake Tekapo and Lake Pukaki. Rain is forecast for tomorrow and we will spend Sunday lazing around reading.
The clouds around Mount Cook have cleared and we have a wonderful view of the Southern Alps. The play of colors is great.
The “pictures” WE see here are even more incomparable to the pictures we can put in this blog. The eye and good vibrations make an unbeatable combination - it's hard to describe - it's simply a feeling of deep inner peace.
Day 57 - 11/5/23 - Lake Tekapo
After a good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast, we set off for a walk along the lake towards the "town" and browse a bit in the shops while the weather is still good.
A couple (in their late twenties) from Germany sat down with us at Cappu/Latte and we talked to them about “God and the world” for almost two hours. In the meantime, the announced continuous rain had set in and probably won't more before stopping tonight.
Time enough for us to pack our things, because tomorrow we have another 4-hour drive to Akaroa ahead of us, where nice weather awaits us again.
