After a night at the beach and a morning walk, we drove to Livorno to have breakfast. Google suggested a great place, so we went to a colorful café where they had really good lattes and croissants.
From here, we wanted to go to San Gimignano. This place is supposed to be one of the most beautiful in Tuscany and has been an inspiration for many paintings. So, we left the coast and headed inland. What awaited us was unbelievable. The roads wound through lush meadows and small forests, with hills covered in vineyards and olive trees. The landscape was as beautiful as in the pictures. On the way, we stopped at a roadside vegetable stand for the salad in the evening.
We drove to Ulignano, about 6 km away. There was supposed to be a great parking lot with a fantastic view. And that's exactly where we went, spending the afternoon going for walks, lying in the sun, and reading. Henriette played on her play mats in the shade and practiced standing up.
In the evening, Phil went for a jog and I did a yoga session. We were fit and rested for the next city trip.
