Bruny Island #2

Publicados: 05.03.2019

Right after waking up, we go on the hunt for an albino again. We come across plenty of wallabies and other hopping creatures (they're all so cute), but no white wallaby anymore. Too bad.

Hunting makes us hungry, so we set up our breakfast table at the main beach of Adventure Bay. Birgit immediately spots a dolphin leisurely swimming up and down the bay, entertaining us throughout breakfast.

With renewed energy, we make our way to Fluted Cape. The hike follows the coastline for about a third of the way, then steadily ascends along the edge of the cliffs before ending with a walk through the forest back to the starting point. The view from the edge of the cliffs is impressive and frightening. It feels like walking along an exposed path in the Alps. Not a fun place for those with a fear of heights!

On the way back to the ferry, we take a brief stop at a beekeeper's and I enjoy a few oysters freshly "harvested" this morning.

PS: Many of the landscape pictures from yesterday and today have very pale colors and appear "foggy." This is not due to the photographer or the camera. It actually looked like that because the wind carried the smoke from the bushfires raging in Victoria down here. We could even smell it.
