Day 8 Koh Tao

Today we slept in and wanted to take it easy. We had a viewpoint and a beach visit on the agenda.

We started with our self-prepared breakfast on the balcony

Then we drove to the planned viewpoint. Unfortunately, it was closed. But we wouldn't be us if we gave up so easily. So we just walked along an unmarked path and found a somewhat run-down but very good viewpoint.

We always prefer it when we can enjoy the view alone. That's why it was so much better than the plan.

Then we found another path and found another beautiful viewpoint without any other people, and from there we enjoyed the view of Koh Nang Yuan from a rock.

Then we wanted to go to the beach. The one we chose was a beach full of rocks, which was absolutely cool to look at but a bit uncomfortable for chilling.

So we looked for another beach. However, we didn't get very far with the scooter and would have had to walk another half an hour, which was too much for us after our climbing adventure to the viewpoints today. So we went to another beach. We found a section of the beach where there were rocks in the water but the sandy beach was completely empty. So we spent the afternoon there.

We stayed until sunset. For this, we found a rock in the water, climbed up, and just enjoyed it.

For dinner, we just stopped at a restaurant that was on the way. Today, I finally had the Green Curry. I had been wanting it the whole time but always chose something else. And I swear, that wasn't the last Green Curry. Wow! It was soooo delicious!

Additionally, we had some small Wan Tans. Today we were just really hungry.

Back at the hostel, we took a shower and then had an oil massage right on the beach. Katha's masseuse was apparently more kneading-happy than mine. With the sound of the ocean and what I consider a caress, I even fell asleep for a moment 😅

After the massage, we swung a bit

Finally, we strolled around the neighborhood, bought more water for tomorrow, and then went back to bed.

So the planned quiet day turned out to be quite full but beautiful!
