I've had enough sleep and am sitting down again in our little spot. It's very fresh this morning: 16°C, the sun is blinking sheepishly through the olive trees. The owner of the house is swimming in the pool and then checking the cistern.
Meanwhile, I'm getting horror news from home: Petra has suffered a deep cut above her knee - in the washing machine, at midnight. But she is being well looked after by the SK Sturm doctor.
Today we're going to spend a day at the sea . A day at the sea with the Fantischen Vier, with the sound of the sea and pleasant music? Well, there's cool music in Christian's new Volvo V60 D2, but at the Azzurro lido in Marina di Pisa, Italian chatter and children's screams reign supreme. There's actually very little going on, we have a parking space right in front of the entrance, but it's more pleasant at home by the pool.
12 per parasol and two deck chairs. A couple of dips in the salt water and a fantastic risotto for lunch and more or less red skin patches for everyone involved are today's haul. So the planned trip to Florence has been postponed by a day, because tomorrow we'll be relaxing in the shade.
There is no water coming out of our toilet flush, but there is water coming out of the shower, sink and bidet. Since the landlord is not there, I borrow Christian's Swiss Army knife and dismantle the flush plate, but the float is not hanging, everything works, but there is no water.
The owner of the house comes home anyway and nods knowingly. And goes to the cistern. Aha, the toilet is connected to the well or maybe it's a rainwater cistern and it hasn't rained here for a while. In any case, he refills it and everything works again.
Today we have a wonderful Jamie Oliver salad, delicately prepared as always by Christian. We finish the Chianti and at midnight I fall into bed.
