Finally a bit of culture today.🏰I chose to visit the Palamidi Fortress in Nafplion. Burki said that we have been here with the kids before, but unfortunately my memory doesn't reach that far 😉. It is a Venetian fortress located 216m above the city of Nafplion. It was built between 1686-1715. Beautiful complex that offers stunning views of the Argolic Gulf, the harbor, and the city. After the Venetian period, it was occupied by the Ottomans until the Greeks recaptured this magnificent complex in 1822. It is divided into different bastions. From up here, there was a panoramic view of potential enemies. It is said that there are about 850 steps from the city to the top. It didn't feel like that to me somehow.
Afterwards, we drove just a few kilometers to the next beach. Many campers were already there, and just as we found a spot, a approaching policeman told us that we couldn't stay overnight here. When Burki asked where it was possible, he said: at the harbor. So we immediately chose the small one at the end of the bay. He came by again but didn't say anything more. So I guess it's okay.
