Tag 114-116 Triopetra-Preveli

On Saturday we drove to the mountain village Kamares, which is 6 km away, to do some shopping. Although there are rather small shops here in the south, the selection for daily needs is completely sufficient. Afterwards, we had something to eat and looked at the parking lot from which you can walk to the Preveli palm beach. Okay, we'll go there on Monday, looks good. But for today, we went back to Triopetra. Unfortunately, I couldn't get any pumpkins at the grocery store. Burki really wanted to carve one for Halloween. But he's not lacking in creativity. On Sunday morning, he went to the beach with our Ortlieb bowl and collected dog droppings. In no time, he made a Zappa pumpkin face. In the evening, which was windless for the first time, I put tea lights in between and Burki remembered the Zappa Halloween times. Before that, he had listened to corresponding music in the bus, while I was out for a walk. Somehow you have to find a way to get along with so much togetherness. Today's record distance: only 7 km to the next parking space. From there we went to the Preveli palm beach and walked along the Megalopotamos river on both sides for a while. In between, we had to cross the river, but that was no problem because it was low and the current was low too.

The beach of Preveli is a sandy beach lined with palm trees. Behind the beach, the Megalopotamos, a mountain stream coming from the Kouroupa mountains, forms the small pond or lake of Preveli, which extends into the gorge behind it. It was very nice to walk the tour together. The parking space, except for annoying flies (you always have to deal with something), was very nice again. There is a lot of wood lying around here, I am looking forward to making a fire.
