Lakefront Reserve in Hamurana

The coolest adventures always start with us in the middle of the night (at least it feels that way). Today, we also wake up early because we have booked a rafting tour on the Kaituna River. This is not just any tour, but it goes down the highest commercially rafted waterfall of 7 meters. We also raft through other small waterfalls. In total, we pass 14 rapids in the most beautiful sun and morning tranquility, as we are still the only ones on the water at the moment - making it well worth getting up early. Not least because of our tour guide, we have a lot of fun. He is not afraid to make a few jokes. For example, he intentionally steers the boat in a way that everyone gets soaked.

After this little adventure, we drive back to the campground from last night. But when we want to continue driving, we notice that Zuhlo has a flat tire and call the road service for help - right at the spot where we were last towed on January 4th.

After a quick tire change, we go to the nearest workshop to have the replaced tire checked. The mechanic immediately notices that the front tires urgently need to be replaced. Since we feel very welcome at the workshop, we decide to stay here. After a freshly brewed coffee, delicious fruit, and a game of Phase 10, we leave the workshop with a great feeling and grateful for being so warmly welcomed.

On the way to go shopping, we discover Carls Jr. - a burger chain that we have never seen before. We decide to try it out and are very impressed with the food, which hardly reminds us of fast food. In the evening, we drive to a familiar campground.
