Gone with the Wind

My parking space in Cadiz is super central but unfortunately not very cheap, so I move on to Tarifa in the evening. About half an hour before Tarifa, there seems to be a pitch with direct access to the beautiful Playa los Alemanes. It's already dark when I arrive, the beach is behind a wall, but I can already hear the sound of the sea.

The next day, I walk down the stone stairs to the beach.

So beautiful... but windy!!! I would love to swim, but with the wind, even I find it too wild. Walking barefoot is enough for me to connect with the energy of the sea. :-D

Later I enjoy my breakfast in a relatively calm spot.

Later on, another camper van arrives in the parking lot. An older Spanish couple who have traveled all the way to India with their caravan. After a short conversation, I set off, I can't wait to reach the southernmost point of my journey - Tarifa!

Already the night before, I arranged to meet Víctor from Couchsurfing. We meet in the afternoon and drive to a place where it seems to be a little less windy. The wind in Tarifa is really extreme these days! Past the cows, we hike a short distance to the viewpoint.

The wind is extreme here too!

On the left side we can see Tarifa and straight ahead: Morocco! Only 30 km as the crow flies separate us from the African continent. The moment is a milestone of my journey...

We warm up with a tea before we drive back to the city center for dinner. In a typical Andalusian restaurant, we order various tapas. A tuna plate 'a la Sushi' with a wasabi-like cream, Croquetas a la tinta, patatas con pisto, olives - a bit of everything to try and share. I probably would never have ordered it myself, but it all tastes great and I get to know the Andalusian cuisine a little better.
