For me personally, today was a highlight on the agenda that surely not every tourist has on their list. As I have mentioned before, I love American universities, even though I only know them from movies or sports events. Our destination today was South Bend. Haven't heard of it? Some of you should be familiar with the 'Fighting Irish of Notre Dame'. One of the greatest college football teams of all time in the USA. In addition, the campus with its buildings and sports facilities is said to be one of the most beautiful and famous in the world. And we were not disappointed. In a rather inconspicuous town, we were greeted by a magnificent entrance gate, and it felt like stepping into a different world. A university that resembles a mega park with great buildings and a nearly 200-year history. Regardless of when they were built, all buildings were coordinated with each other and created a unified picture. The Catholic University of Notre Dame, where women were not allowed to study until 1972, was worth seeing in every aspect. We couldn't help but enjoy a coffee at the campus bistro 'Einstein' before checking if there were any souvenirs. And there were plenty of them. The souvenir shop was more like a department store on two floors, where you could find everything!!! A paradise for sports and university fans. By the way, we parked right in front of the Notre Dame football stadium, which is currently being expanded. You could already imagine how magnificent the stadium will be integrated into the entire area. I am still completely amazed.... Good night from South Bend.
