Now we're taking things a little easier and have settled into a real classic Tuscan farmhouse on a small vineyard in the countryside.
We enjoy the beautiful sunrises and romantic sunsets every morning and evening. We live a little bit into the day, splash around in the refreshing pool and just let time run its course.
But here too, sightseeing is not neglected and we set off and take a leisurely stroll through Montepulciano.
Montepulciano is a medieval hill town in Tuscany, Italy. The town is surrounded by vineyards and is known for the red wine Vino Nobile. The Torre di Pulcinella is a clock tower with Pulcinella, a character from the Commedia dell'Arte. In the Piazza Grande are the 14th-century Palazzo Comunale, with a tower that offers views over the surrounding countryside, and the Duomo, with a huge triptych above the altar.
Here too we have the typical Tuscan image of a fortress town with small shops that sell handicrafts and all sorts of delicacies. We stroll through the bubbly town and let ourselves drift.
As always, there is of course a little treat in a small café:
PIENZA
A little trip to Pienza, a cute little place with a few cafes, but nothing else except a pond in the middle of the village center topped by a natural hot spring.
