Koh Phayam, Thailand

ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤ: 28.02.2018

Koh Phayam is the third and smallest island we visited in Thailand.

On the island, besides a few ancient small trucks for material transport, there are no cars. Everyone gets around by scooter or bicycle.

Right from the beginning, we noticed a slightly musty smell of rotten fruits. Eventually, we realized that it was coming from the red and yellow fruits that fall and lie everywhere from the trees. Upon closer inspection, we discovered small "croissant" shapes hanging from the fruits. After some puzzling, we found out what it was... the "croissants" were cashew nuts! :) The whole island was full of cashew trees. So we learned something new and they tasted great too.

Other than that, we relaxed at the various beaches, read a lot, explored the restaurants and bars (one of them is the pirate ship in the pictures), and went on a sunset kayak tour. After this another week, our batteries were definitely recharged for further travels. Next destination: Malaysia.
