Tag 35-Fishing in the Morning and Exploring the Area

ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤ: 28.08.2017

On this morning, Jochen and I (Jeroen) woke up early. We wanted to be on the lake with the boat at 8 o'clock to go fishing. We went far out on the lake and cast our fishing lines. We tried our luck for three hours, but unfortunately, the fish didn't bite. Nevertheless, it was a lot of fun and I was able to learn a lot. I now know what I did wrong in the past few weeks. We went back to shore and put away the fishing gear.

Afterwards, the four of us went to a typical restaurant in the area. The building used to be a pigsty. It was very cozy here and we enjoyed our meal.

Originally, our plan was to go on a hike of about 8 kilometers after lunch. However, since everyone had eaten well and a very long hike was planned for the next day, we decided to change our plans and only walked a short distance to a small alpine pasture.

In the past, people who lived off agriculture used to live here. They had very little to live on and had to work very hard. The special thing about this alpine pasture is that it is managed by an old lady who walks up to the pasture every day with her belongings. We had a coffee from the wood stove and looked at the old farmhouse. Everything was very small and the ceiling of the living room was completely charred. The residents lived with the smoke from the fire just to have some warmth.

After the short hike, we went to a couple who are friends of our hosts. They are also from Germany and are artists. Besides a small shop, they have a café where we stopped and had a waffle. The couple's house and property were very lovingly decorated, with lots of art and the man's self-made wooden sculptures. The most impressive thing was a self-built sauna made of logs.

After enjoying the waffle, we returned to the house. There we spent the evening telling stories and playing a game of Wizard.
