From Myrtle Beach, SC to Wilmington, NC

ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤ: 06.10.2022

Today the weather was finally friendly, so normality slowly returned, and we also discovered a pier that was broken in the middle. People were again bustling on the streets, populating the beaches, and organizing a beach volleyball tournament. On our way to Wilmington today, we initially tried to use the roads near the sea as much as possible. Among other things, we visited Sunset Beach and Holden Beach. Unfortunately, we were disappointed to find that access to the beach was blocked with residential/vacation homes. There were hardly any public parking lots and access to the sea. On our way, we found a nice place called Inlet View Bar & Grill in Shallotte, NC for lunch. We enjoyed the view of the water and the food there. After the break, we came across a farmers market where we stocked up on some goodies. Afternoon, we finally arrived in Wilmington. In search of a parking space near the riverside, we had to drive around a bit before we finally found a parking space. Wilmington itself has about 115,000 inhabitants and a very eventful history, especially after the end of the Civil War. The city center made a nice impression on us, so we settled down in a bar where suddenly a song by WIZO (a German punk band) played. Quite strange. The last 20 minutes drive to the accommodation went smoothly. Our super lovely host Sandy (we booked this time via AirBnB) welcomed us happily. We settled in, bought some provisions at the local supermarket, and then went to sleep.
