The largest sand island in the world ๐Ÿ—บ

After most of my planned tours had to be cancelled due to the floods in Townsville, I was especially excited when I finally went to Fraser Island. For a day on the largest sand island in the world!

We started off by taking the ferry โ›ด over the sea. After a 45-minute journey, we finally arrived and then boarded one of the many Fraser Explorer Tours buses along with 38 others.

Our first stop was the 75 Mile Beach.

We passed by the legendary shipwreck and went all the way to the colorful sand dunes, called Pinnacle, until we reached Eli Creek, where you can float down on a swim ring in 18ยฐC cold water.

After a hearty lunch at the resort, the second part of the tour began.
We headed to Central Station, which marks the center of the island ๐Ÿ.
Here, you can admire tropical rainforest surrounding a creek that was used by the local women (and yes, only women were allowed here) as a birthplace for their children.

And then we were already off to the next stop and my personal highlight of the tour! To Lake Mackenzie! It stands out with crystal clear and warm water.
And of course, new friendships were formed โค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‡. Shoutout to you Jana, if you're reading this!

My conclusion:

My tour was beautiful and I wouldn't have wanted to miss it, but I can only recommend to everyone considering a Fraser tour to do a multi-day and ideally a self-drive tour. In one day, you simply can't grasp the size and beauty, as well as the hidden spots, so I will definitely come back!

To be continued...
