Buenos Aires - a feeling of arrival in a big city. How good it feels to have an apartment again with plenty of space, with your own kitchen and washing your clothes yourself, you only realize it when you have it back. We spent a week in Buenos Aires and felt very comfortable. We enjoyed cooking properly again, baking a Zopf on Sundays and washing the whole backpack again. We also had to plan our onward journey during this time, which turned out to be more difficult than expected. We will spend the next few weeks in Patagonia and it will be high season there. We tried to figure out a logical travel route, book buses and hotels/Airbnb's - probably the first and last time on our trip that we have planned the next two months. But we don't want to sleep somewhere on a park bench on Christmas and want to make the most of two months in Patagonia!;-)
We stayed in the neighborhood of Palermo, which is known for its many cafes, restaurants and boutiques. We enjoyed this atmosphere in this neighborhood very much because we could move around in peace without constantly being approached and without the traffic taking center stage.
On Sunday, we couldn't resist visiting the San Telmo market. On this market, only junk was actually sold, but the sellers were partly dressed up and lived their passion, which created a special atmosphere. Everything pulsated in the dreamy, yet exciting hustle and bustle of the big city.
In the city, you can always observe tango dancers performing on public squares. So we booked a tango evening through airbnb and were not disappointed. Together with another couple, we learned how to walk in tango, a step, and its history. This evening was very nice because it gave us a different cultural insight than usual.
