31.8.18 - 5th day Prologue Scuol - Nauders

Today morning it was there, the predicted rainy weather. Our last stage was from Scuol to Nauders. It was already clear that the round trip over the Kaunertal Glacier would not happen. Patrick and HP sacrificed themselves to test the rain gear and rode to Nauders in pouring rain in just over an hour. Daniela and I walked around Scuol.

Regarding the rain gear, the gentlemen came to the conclusion: pants were good; socks were not! The customs officer in Martina was very meticulous and wanted to know where the bikes on the bike trailer came from, apparently it could be convincingly assured that they were not newly purchased.....

In Scuol, we all met again. A great road bike trip comes to an end. We are well aware that we can be more than happy with just one rainy day, as we were able to ride numerous passes in the best conditions. We are a great group, each one does what they can, and we meet again and again!!

As soon as Patrick got home, he googled for new road bike trips.... to be continued...

The prologue is now over. Now I have two more weeks of work ahead before the big journey....
