Today morning when getting up I could observe the setting full moon and therefore a new day with clear sky was waiting for me. After breakfast and a sensational Birchermüesli I packed my backpack for a short stage, almost a rest day. First, it went steeply downhill to Lauterbrunnen and then just as steeply up on the other side of the valley to Mürren. But I was rewarded with fantastic views of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau as well as Männlichen, Lauberhornkante, Tschuggen and Wengen. After 2.5 hours, almost 10km and 800 meters in altitude, I reached Mürren. My booked hotel Alpenblick is right at the beginning and I could already check in. The boss is also very sympathetic, in front of me 2 Americans check in, who apparently come here from Hawaii almost every year... And the boss confirms my impression that the Bernese Oberland is extremely popular among Americans, Canadians, Australians. I don't stay long in the hotel, my plan for today is to take the cable car to the Schilthorn. Incredible the many tourists, but fortunately it is not overcrowded. At the middle station, I make the first stop on the Thrill Walk, a circular tour on a circular path directly in the rock with a glass floor. But I don't have to do all the attractions on the walk, e.g. go over a rope above the abyss... But now it goes up to the summit station. Although I have never seen the Bond film on behalf of Her Majesty, the interactive Bond exhibition is very exciting. Impressively, the film was shot here 50 years ago. But the mountain panorama is just as impressive. The 360-degree view up to Mont Blanc, Titlis, Bern but of course all Bernese Alps impresses me a lot. I really had a dream day. So I stay up until the last descent at 6 p.m. and enjoy the sun, the view, and read a little. In the evening I treat myself to a chicken in Chörbli, the hotel's specialty here, but I'm a little disappointed... But again, a great day comes to an end.
