Hello - back at the Elbe - September 18th

The wind is still blowing, but a little milder...We decide to drive to the village and have breakfast. We find a cozy little cafe and indulge ourselves once again, but the portion was also plentiful. We stroll through the village once more and continue on our way. Before leaving Fehmarn, we visit the butterfly house and marvel at the beautiful specimens, so colorful, so delicate, so well camouflaged! The tropical temperatures briefly give us a touch of summer, although we are dressed far too warmly for this visit. We would have liked to take two Chinese quails with us, we really liked them... but we decided not to!

So we continue without them. The bridge is no longer blocked, but the wind is still with us. Our plan is to take the ferry from Glückstadt to Wischhafen across the Elbe again. No vacation, not a weekend... so the waiting time shouldn't be too long... except for the rush hour traffic, of course!

1.7 km before we are stuck in traffic again, but luckily not for toooo long... after a little over 1.5 hours we are on it and cross with a good wave. The cars in the first row get a free car wash as soon as the waves hit the bow a little higher.

We arrive at a place behind the dike in Ottersee around 5.30 pm. We take a nice walk and marvel at the multitude of steamers that sail along the horizon. I go to bed early and finally have time to read in peace, Jörni gets to choose another audio play and then off to dreamland.
