Day 9, once again from Hotel Don Miguel to Hotel Don Miguel

ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤ: 12.02.2023

Since last night there is also Calima here, a sandstorm that carries sand from the Sahara over here when the wind comes from the southeast. It is very warm (23° again today), but the visibility is poor and the air is dusty. Not the only reason why we wanted to have another day at the beach today, wonderful opportunity to get to know Gran Canaria at its best.

Today we exchanged our feet for bicycles again and took a detour on the bikes, but without batteries this time because we want to lock the bikes at the beach and make them unattractive for thieves. In addition, the bikes can be ridden almost as well as a regular bike without batteries because they are much lighter. But I will come back to this point later, it sounds simple at the moment, but it's not as easy as you might think.

When we arrived at the beach, we locked our bikes properly and joined the exodus of beach addicts. Spaniards also like to go to the beach on Sundays. It was a migration of people like no other.

If you know the Hohe Straße and the Schildergasse on Advent Saturday, you know what I'm talking about.

Today we discovered a new section of the beach, this time without rainbow colors, only 50% men and the other 50% women, still all mixed up ‼️

Anyway, the beach bar played some great music again, we did a lot of reading, enjoyed the sun on our backs, had a wonderful day at the beach, and made the most of our last day in Maspalomas.

And then came the way back, of course without batteries, because they were in the hotel, and a lot of moaning behind me on the bike.

So after almost 13 km with over 100 meters of elevation gain, we were back at the hotel around 4:00 pm.

Tomorrow we will start the journey back to Las Palmas from here. Don't worry, after two days that were rather boring for our readers, there will be two days with bike stages and ordered adventures. Just wait and see.
