Today, a trip to the South was on the schedule.
For this trip to Tombstone and Tucson, we were allowed to use the host family's KIA. Fortunately, as we traveled further south, the sky became more clouded and there were even a few raindrops. So the temperatures were somewhat bearable.
Tombstone is a historic Western town. Famous Western heroes had a shootout at the O.K. Corral there. Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday are the most famous characters from this story.
The town is very touristy. The shootout is reenacted every hour and there are a number of souvenir shops.
After a meal in a saloon, we returned to Tucson, where a visit to the Airplane Museum was on the schedule. Unfortunately, this museum closes its doors at 3:30 p.m. We were a few minutes late, so we could only see a few planes from the street. Really a shame. Instead of the planes, we visited the University of Tucson. A very beautiful and large campus. There are various sports stadiums and a park-like area. With the sunset, we returned to Surprise.
