#Tag4: The realization

Today I didn't make it to breakfast again, which is only available until 10 o'clock... Because yesterday I ended the day in a bar with a Thai beer and live music. Apparently, I must have looked very lonely because eventually a Dutch girl approached me and asked if I wanted to join her and a Thai friend 😂 that's one way to make friends.

After leaving the house without breakfast, I went to the Golden Mount, an artificially created hill from where you can overlook Bangkok. However, to get there, you had to climb a lot of stairs. Once I reached the top, amazed by the golden summit splendor, I looked out over the murky Bangkok. Slowly, I can understand why so many Asians wear face masks.

My next destination was Chinatown. So, I hopped on a tuk-tuk and had them drive me to the beginning of Chinatown. Once I arrived, I wanted to eat something first and visited the allegedly best fish ball restaurant in Bangkok. I can only say that it tasted very interesting and undefinable. With a satisfied feeling, I immersed myself in the hustle and bustle of Chinatown and squeezed through narrow alleyways. I would say, no matter what you need, you can get it here.

From Chinatown, I actually wanted to take a taxi boat back to the hostel. At the pier, I was approached by someone working for the tourist police. I sat down with him and received some valuable tips. This revealed that tourists, as in any country, are being exploited. For example, I bought a bag of melon slices for 50 B, while he could have gotten it for 20 B... He also gave me helpful advice on how to get around Bangkok and the surrounding area quickly and cheaply. We'll see how the implementation works :)
