Portuguese Way - 7th day walking

ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤ: 13.05.2018

7th stage Rubiães - Tui 19km

Hello, hello! Today it gets serious! This stage is beautiful and a milestone is set! Today is the day I leave Portugal and enter Spain. Unfortunately, I am feeling worse physically and it is strongly noticeable on this day. The Achilles tendons are so irritated that it affects my gait on the hip. Well, this time I tried to walk slower, but already on the next stage I realized - I have to walk quickly! That's my rhythm. Unfortunately, it rained yesterday (already yesterday for me ;) ) like today!

At some points, you had to be careful not to slip! But I think it was still okay. Also, the sun came out later!

After this rainy stage, there was a very emotional moment on this route. It is the day of crossing the border and this is associated with an emotional moment. Who knows, maybe these moments have to happen again and again in pilgrim life.

Shortly before Tui, I therefore cross the border bridge from Portugal to Spain and have thus completed more than half of the approximately 260km. Santiago is getting closer and I am getting more and more nostalgic.

After the hardships of this stage, there is very, very good food and wine waiting for me in Tui! You can tell that you are in Spain. Wonderful! My people are slowly trickling in and life is simply wonderful. #truecrewlove

Afterwards, there is still a little something. When I wanted to get a stamp in the Cathedral of Tui, I stumbled upon a huge Spanish wedding. Just at the moment when I was standing in this church, the bride and groom said yes, kissed each other and the choir started singing. I have to admit honestly, even a few tears flowed from me. Too bad I can't upload videos here. Püppi in an outdoor outfit crashing into a Spanish wedding 😂

This ends this day! And so the next day starts! Buen Camino (no longer Bom Caminho)!
