As expected, stunning beaches in Thailand. Despite Krabi being a very touristy area, the beaches are very clean and not too crowded. People spread out across the many coves and beaches. We had a relaxing 3 days here. But we didn't just lounge around.
Our first destination was a lagoon. Not easy to reach at all. In Germany, you would need a helmet, safety harnesses, steel ropes, supervisors, and a mountain rescue team to get there! In Thailand, it's a different story... none of those 😅 The good thing about the challenging journey is that there are very few people in the lagoon. Another beautiful sight of nature.
We also climbed a small temple complex, the Tiger Temple. An online tip told us that it's most beautiful at sunrise. It didn't disappoint. We woke up at 5 am and took a taxi there, only to climb 1260 steps in the dark to reach the temple. 1260 steps may not sound like much. But the Thai people don't believe in standardization, there were sometimes 2-3 steps with a height difference of 1 meter. After the sunrise, the animal world also woke up, monkeys provided funny situations and entertainment.
The journey to Kho Tao had its own adventures. Our taxi van was a moving disco, sensational. We stayed one more night near Surathani before crossing over.
The ferry ride: I'm telling you, not for the faint-hearted. At least 30% of the passengers, including myself, had to think twice about this trip. Despite taking motion sickness tablets. 🤢
At first glance, Kho Tao is a beautiful island. We hope for better weather. The next few days will be busy. Experience Festival and a private boat tour through the coves.
