The day naturally started with breakfast ;)

At 10 o'clock we had an appointment at the Jordanite baptism site with the pastor.
Unfortunately, Moshe had to cancel on us at short notice and it was rescheduled for tomorrow at 3 pm. Let's see if Romana and Paul come here again to splash around in the 'holy water'...

So we had to rearrange a bit and moved up the visit to the Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth.
There were really many impressive things there.

If you know the movie 'The Da Vinci Code' (or regularly attend Mass in the Vatican), you can imagine the mysterious, but somehow also very comforting and impressive chants of the monks that we were welcomed with there.

What exactly was being sung... well... probably the first and only moment in my life when I regretted not having learned Latin.

What is your image of Jesus?

- The world definitely sees him in very different ways, I prefer the Japanese one :D

After getting some snacks at the Arab Bazaar, we went for a tour at Nazareth Village.
This is a place where the living conditions of the 1st century are shown and recreated. We met there a travel group from efG Stuttgart, who also arrived yesterday. However, they are only staying for a week (typical Swabians).

This is a replica of a tomb as it was customary there. What I find especially interesting is that you always painted pictures in Sunday school with a stone that is easily twice as big as me.

In reality, the door to death is only about one meter high, and inside the cave there is room for about four bodies. It must have smelled good. Maybe that's why they were embalmed...?

This is Hannah, while she explains to us how she processes the wool of the sheep, which we just petted downstairs, and weaves carpets from it, for example. A sweet woman, really...

And this is a synagogue, just like the one Jesus visited back then. In the next few days, we will also visit an archaeological site where Jesus is very likely to have taught, but it probably won't be as well-preserved anymore ;).

--------------------------------

I'm slowly starting to feel like a true influencer, because they always say 'I'll show you tomorrow' and in the end it somehow never happens...
Yesterday I raved about our accommodation here and took many photos, as well as plenty of the landscape here, which is of course breathtaking, but I'm such a genius and didn't consider that my laptop doesn't have an SD card slot to upload the photos and that today is Shabbat and I can't even buy an adapter :D
At least I managed to take a photo with my phone just now, you can imagine the rest of paradise or read about it in Genesis 1 ;)

Plan for tomorrow:
Capernaum/Magdala
second attempt for the baptisms :D
Stay at the UN Security Zone (don't panic, the bunker is included - for real)

Let's see what surprises await us tomorrow ;)
